Hawaiian Days Collection™ of Vintage Prints (Standard Quality)

The Hawaiian nostalgia images in this portfolio are based on the standard matting and framing proportions of 16"x20" and are printed on standard quality papers. If you desire archival quality Giclée on watercolor paper or canvas printing, plus a wider assortment of finishing styles, see our DeLuxe portfolio. Make sure to select "No Cropping" during checkout, or allow for minimal cropping to fit your chosen format or if you're going to have your image matted. Keep in mind that the originals these impressions were taken from are antiques, made and printed with methods and machinery vastly inferior by today's standards, but that adds to their nostalgic charm. Today, we employ the latest in technology and materials to manufacture your print. Enjoy your trip through the days of Hawaii before jet-travel!

    164: Hula Girl - Matchbox Cover, 1930's.
This is a lovely image of a silhouetted Hula Girl leaning against a palmtree in a field of midnight blue. Please note that due to extreme amplification from a tiny image every flaw of the original (matchboxes weren't printed with highest quality technology) will be visible when viewed up close or purchased in the largest sizes. However, since this is such a great image we decided to go ahead. Indeed, this is all vintage stuff, and has to be appreciated for what it was, not to be compared to present-day state-of-the-art printing. Still, your prints are produced with archival-quality inks on heavyweight paper or canvas and are guaranteed not to fade for over 80 years, if kept behind glass and out of direct sunlight.
    165: 'Clean Sweep'
Vintage Honolulu Broom Factory Product Label, ca 1935. The origins of this charming label were vague and begged the question if this was a product sold only locally, or would it have appealed to Mainlanders for its exotic origins? Imagine, a Forties' housewife with curlers must certainly have pictured herself with her 'hula broom' in a grass skirt and little else... While contemplating this idea, we suddenly happened upon Honolulu Broom Factory brooms at the local Longs Drugs store. The Honolulu Broom Factory was founded in 1923, the logo designed in 1935, and the brooms are still being produced by hand in a small factory in Honolulu. Don't you love it when history comes alive?
